Description
The bell is strongly arched and the top part is very transparent. In the
centre of the bell you can see a transparent disc. Fine wrinkled lines run from
this disc to the edge. The edge is provided with a dense row of tentacles. Aequora vitrina is in fact a medusa (of Campanulina acuminata).
The nematocysts can cause a weak burn.
Size
The bell has a maximum diameter of ± 250 mm. The tentacles can
reach the same length.
Colour
Transparent,
the lines are white.
