Description
Hibernates as egg and then in the spring the caterpillars hatch. There is only one brood per year. The Green-brindled Crescent in
woody area's, will have a slightly more greenish brown color. The color is brown with a distinctive coarse mottled pattern. On
the wings are green lines with a metallic sheen.
Size
Wingspan 35 mm to 46 mm.
Habitat
Deciduous forests, dense scrub and gardens.
Food plants
The food source for the caterpillar consists of a variety of plants including Crataegus monogyna ( common hawthorn) and Prunus spinosa (blackthorn).
Flight season
From early September to early November.
Distribution
Throughout Europe to the Urals.
