Description
The little cuttlefish has a small round body with two relatively large fins on either side. Attached to its head are five pairs of arm, of which one pair is longer to catch prey. Each arm has 2 to 8 suckers. Males have one modifies arm for copulation. They feed on small crustaceans and shrimps.

Size
The maximum length is ± 50 mm.

Colour
A transparent to milky body with many pigment spots in various colours. The pigment cells can be change in size. The body colour is usually adapted to the surrounding.

Habitat
Lives on gravel and sand bottoms in shallow water, where it can burry it self. Can sometimes be found in tidal pools.

Distribution
North Eastern Atlantic, from North Norway till Marocco and the Mediterranean sea.
