Description
This solitairy hydriod lives on soft sediments, anchored with filaments on its foot and can only be found in winter or early spring. The polyp has two rings of tentacles. The outer one is up to 60 mm in diameter and has up to about 80 tentacles (own observation). The literature givs different numbers, varying from 20 to 60. It has up to 80 short, fine oral tentacles. The translucent stem has fine white longitudinal lines. The nudibranch Cumanotus beaumonti feeds of Corymorpha nutans.

Size
Height up to about 100 mm.

Colour
Stem and polyp are highly translucent, sometomes whitish or pinkish.

Habitat
On soft substrate at depth up to 100 m.

Distribution
North East Atlantic ocean and Meditteranean sea.
