Description
The Jersey tiger is activ at daytime and feeds on nectar from various plants. The black and beige striped upper wing cover the red and sometimes yellow to orange, black specled under wings. Eggs are laid in clusters on the leaf margins of the host plants laid. Hibernation takes place as caterpillar, in low vegetation.

Size
Wingspan about 55 mm.

Habitat
Mostly in hilly areas at forest edges and in parks.

Flight season
From July tot till August.

Foodplants
Salix caprea (goat willow), Rubus idaeus (raspberry), Lonicera xylosteum (fly honeysuckle) and L. periclymenum (common honeysuckle), Lamium album (white deadnettle).

Distribution
South-western and central Europe, south-west England.
