Description
This bushy bryozoans consists of branched colonies that again have different types of zooids. These zooids are placed in two rows. The zooids (individuals) have specialized tasks within the colony. Some take care of the reproduction, where others for example gather the food. They will feed on plankton.

Size
These colonies can reach a diameter of several centimetres.

Colour
The colour is light beige to brown.

Habitat
They live on hard substrata and algae, but also on other bryozoans like Flustra, from the sub-littoral to a depth of 20 to 30 m.

Distribution
North eastern Atlantic and Mediterranean sea.
